SUmmer workshops 2026

Unleash your creativity with CCS specialty workshop series running June through August! We are excited for a new line up, returning spaces & a summer full of beautiful art making with you!

All summer programs in 2026 are half-day programs (3 hours). 
Artists are welcome to attend with aides/staff/nurses. 

Pricing: $275 per workshop

Join us at one of the 2 studio locations of Contemporary Craft from June 15 - 19. Artists can join both classes if space is available.

• Location: Contemporary Craft Timmons Building (5645 Butler St, Pittsburgh, PA 15201)

• Capacity: 10-12 per workshop

• Artists will need to bring lunch and be accompanied by a caregiver

morning: Weaving workshop

Join us for an introductory weaving workshop with our friend Margaret Dugger - work individually & collaboratively with support from CCS & Loom Club while enjoying the beautiful fibers loft at the Contemporary Craft Timmons Building.

Time: 9AM- 12PM

afternoon: Batik Painting workshop

Get Loosey Goosey with our friend and lead instructor Saihou Njie. Explore colored dyes and wax on fabric to prepare for a small exhibit in the Jerry Kay Cases at Contemporary Craft. Batik Workshop will be held in the fibers loft and dye studio at the Contemporary Craft Timmons Building.

Time: 1PM- 4PM

Both workshops available for those who want a full day experience. Instructors from CCS will not be available to assist with lunches or break time between workshops. Artists must have caregiver present during lunch break.

Explore the Museum Lab space located next to the Children’s Museum for process-based work with emphasis on MOTION. Think spinning isles & canvas, kinetic sculpture displays, collaboration & more! This year we are hoping to engage the public with a small community sculpture or collaborative display.

Time: 9AM- 12PM

Join us for our 8th year of art making at the Andy Warhol Museum. A workshop so great we just keep coming back! We are looking forward to screen-printing on shirts & tote bags, making individual & collaborative designs while getting inspired by the museum’s new display. We encourage new CCS artists to start with our AWM workshop - it’s the perfect intro to ccs summer workshops.

Screenprinting & Museum Studies workshop

Join us for our annual workshop at the Andy Warhol Museum. A workshop so great we just keep coming back!  We are looking forward to screen-printing on shirts & tote bags, making individual & collaborative designs while getting inspired by the museum’s new display. New to CCS? AWM is the perfect intro to CCS summer workshops.

Join us at our studio space in Millvale for a workshop with Katy DeMent! We hope you’ll love coming to our sunny studio for a creative workshop connecting with the Audubon Society in Millvale and Birding Experts. Think painting birds, migration patterns, and plein aire landscapes!
